WinUtilities has been given out a few times on GOTD. I wrote a review on it when it was given out as v6.4 (click here) and v6.2 (click here). Today's version is v7.0 and here are the changes are per the developer since v6.4:

This program was previously offered on GOTD in version 6.5. I tested it and gave it a 8/10. So, as a newer version is on, I had better review it again.

This program absolutely does what it says in the description above. It has many modules split into clear, distinct groups. You can run each module seperately or run together. You can even create shortcuts for particular modules by going to the installaion directory. Most of the time the program is successful in cleaning and tuning up your computer sometimes by deleting unused files or just changing some registry items.

PROS
Lots of modules abailable.
Accurate searching of junk files. You can choose to select which extensions, and you can add new ones too.
The Duplicate File Cleaner is very effective, you can select which criteria for the program to search for. Sometimes finds important files, but you can filter easily.
Innovative Start screen.
Each module is a wizard, which makes it very easy to use.
Registry Cleaner is much better than previously offered registry cleaners on GOTD.
Advanced option tweaking.
Compact resource use.

CONS
Slow program startup time (takes about 40 seconds to start).
Tries to look like Vista interface, which could have been annoying to some people.


This is a good all-in-one pack for those people who like their PCs to run as if brand new. It automatically installs to previous installed location. No need to uninstall first. Use this in parallel to freeware CCleaner to make your PC the best!

CCleaner does quite a lot, but not as much as WinUtilites. What CCleaner does is disk cleaning, registry cleaning, program uninstalling and startup managing. Win Utilities has all this, and some more: Duplicate file cleaner, junk files cleaner, BHO (IE extensions) remover, etc.

Although this is very good, I know CCleaner is still a competitor because of it's freeware status.
