The Good
* Simple and easy to use.
* Allows you to easily choose which pages to print.
* Can automatically detect "crap" pages and "deletes" them.
* Allows you to easily print multiple pages on one sheet.
* Gives you statistics on pages/money saved.
* Works with anything you need to print - not just websites.
* Works with other printer friendly tools.
The Bad
* Always stay on in the background.
* The iPrint window does not automatically close after you do the actually printing.
* No way to "undelete" multiple pages at once.
* Selecting multiple pages could have been done better.
* You cannot change page orientation from within the program.
* You still get the default print popup window even after you setup everything in iPrint.
* Small annoying bug with the buttons.
Free Alternatives
The following software are not exactly "alternative" to iPrint because they don't directly do the samething as iPrint. However they are software that allow you make websites printer friendly (so in other words accomplish the same goal as iPrint):

I've been using iPrint since it was offered on Bits du Jour. There are some minor UI issues, but Inzone is working on them. The easiest way to use it is to double-click a page to delete/undelete, right-click a page to see a zoomed view of that page. Can you do this with most applications' Print Preview? Yes, but not as conveniently. Typically, you must specify which pages to print. iPrint makes it easy to visually deselect specific pages.
I disagree with a number of Ashraf's statements. iPrint has its own printing preferences, which are different from your physical or virtual (such as PDF or XPS) printer's preferences. It's not possible for iPrint to handle your printer's preferences in advance.
This is largely a knock-off of GreenPrint, which is itself a stripped-down knock-off of FinePrint. Another app with similar capabilities (among many others) is ClickBook. Personally, I like iPrint, because it has a very responsive and easy-to-use UI for what it does. iPrint leaves duplexing up to your printer's Preferences, some of the other apps attempt to handle duplexing with their own options or via their own manual handling (you need very reliable paper-feeding for manual duplexing). I have licenses for iPrint, GreenPrint, and an ancient version of ClickBook; FinePrint has been around a long time but I haven't used it.
I don't mind that the UI stays up until you close it. It makes it easy to re-print if your printer screwed-up, you want another copy, or you want to also print to another physical or virtual printer. I've communicated a number of UI issues with the developer. I was aware of the buttons sometimes showing up over other windows, but I didn't complain to the developer about that because it would be very rare to open another window while you're doing a print preview.
Although I usually leave iPrint as my default printer, I print directly to specific printers when I don't need its capabilities. That avoids issues with two different sets of printing preferences.

ACTUAL PROGRAM OPERATION:
I successfully created a 1-page document using my microsoft works document processor sub-program, edited the page using the iPrint program (specifying my desired print preferences) and then printed the resulting tailored document to my regular HP printer (which was listed, along with all my other printers within the iPrint program). The result was successful and satisfactory, as expected.
The iPrint program also automatically started up as soon as I clicked on the "print button" via the Microsoft Works program.
CONS:
*** GUI could be much more visually appealing and attractive (IMHO).
*** No Help Guide contained within the program itself. Help instructions are located only online, via developer's site.
*** No support contact information located within program. This information is located only online, via developer's site.
*** Contains relatively few editing features and options. Could use a bit more beefing up in the way of utilitiies (maybe in a future version, hopefully).

Ignore the greenprint.com crap link - it's neither free, nor is it software; it's a printing service.
Some ways you can save paper now without adding software:
- use 2-up/4-up printing in Word
- check to see if your printer driver supports 2-up/4-up printing(after you click Print..., click on Properties next to your printer name and look around the options)
- try using the duplexing feature that is on many office printers(double-sided printing).
Combining 4-up printing with duplexing allows you to print 8 pages on one piece of paper, and can be very convenient as well.
