This software is a keeper:
1. Nice and pleasant GUI, no need for help whatsoever since interface is very well thought.
2. Can be used as a regular audio player with standard bells and whistles and more: equalizer, balance, transparency, scheduler
3. Can read OGG, FLAC, etc.
4. Mixing table for sounds, can create personalized sound theme. Useful for those who find some sounds too noisy: you can edit a theme adn save it under another name, or create a theme from scratch. Easy to do.
5. Can record the audio playing (in OGG)
6. Funny effects rarely if ever found in players: echo and reverberation (try it with your favorite MP3)
7. Installation (XP PRO SP3 modded) can't be easier, just follow instructions.
8. Player keys (play, next, pause) in systray, does not appear in task bar
9. Player can be managed from the systray, with a right-click; menu seems complete
10. No nag, no BS. Clean.
I know my impressions look like a advertising brochure, but how to do otherwise?
With some imagination you could turn the software into a sample creator for repetitive music (do you know Terry Riley?). However, you must remind Halotea is only a player.
People who gave a vote down didn't bother to try the software. I did because at first, I thought it was a strange idea to ask a software to help me relax since if I want to relax, I choose some special activity foreign to work and set up a special environment, and generally it's without a computer. But the geeks out there could appreciate to listen different sounds while working.
So, I saw the screenshots, they appealed to me and what the heck, I downloaded it. The product description on this page is misleading, sort of.
Software takes less than 5 MB in Program files, about 54 MB in all users application data (mostly audio samples in OGG format). Memory: 214 K (virtual size) and 52 K (working set) as given by Process Explorer. One entry in the registry.
CONS:
* Systray notification might be a little intrusive, but the tooltip automatically disappears after 2 or 3 seconds.
* There could be a previous key in the systray
* No repeat function in the playlist
* Languages limited to Russian (hard coded into a DLL) and English (default)

Not really cons, but I had to find something, it's my nature. Took me much more time to write this review than to download, install, run and understand the software.
If it weren't for GOTD, I will never have heard of Halotea. Halotea deserves only thumbs up. Guys, give the product another chance.
I wouldn't mind to pay for it, but I find the price tag too high.
Many thanks to GOTD and Mirolit for this excellent product. Proof is given that for time to time a very worthy product is offered here.

the problem with activation is solved. If you experience problems with registration, please re-download the GOTD archive to get the full version of Halotea.
ps: facing "The key can not be decrypted" error on installation's start up means you also need to re-download the installation file.
We are aware of the problem with activation and have already contacted the Developer in this regard.
This comment will be updated as soon as the issue is solved.

I activated it and then it took it too "00 DAYS REMAINED" and is requiring me to reenter the Activation Key - which I did and nothing is happening. Will not let me start the program back up out of 'Trial Version'.
I go to the site, enter the code, then paste the activation code into Halotea and it tells me to restart. Yet everytime I restart it is the same thing over again. I have gone through this ten times, carefully validating the codes I put in and get out and do everything perfectly but it simply does not work. It says it is the trial version and has zero days remaining. The first time I ran the installer it said I had 14 days remaining. This is not user error, I have done this so many times now in exacting detail and the program simply refuses to accept the codes as pasted from the web page.
Will not activate. Trying to activate on windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

Да не переживайте вы из-за этой программы, ее нет смысла устанавливать. Релаксирующую музыку можно слушать и без нее.

ОН-Лайн.Мне понравилось.Сегодняшнюю прогу не скачивал.Нет необходимости.Пользуюсь иногда бесплатной Аурой,линк на кот.уже выше помещён. P.S. Советую заглядывать иногда на англ. и голл.яз. сайты GOTD.Голл. сайт,кстати, самый интересный,IMHO.Модератор никого не банит.Комменты публикуют почти сразу.

Windows 7 (64 bit) - Всё работает
От прослушивания, у меня аж голова разболелась.
Есть серия CD, так и называется "Звуки живой природы", у меня только 5шт. (Дыхание моря, Звуки джунглей и тропических лесов, Наедине с дождем, Прибоя дивные напевы, Тропический рай), поинтересней будет, да и послушать на "взрослой" акустике поинтересней
Классика - самая расслабляющая, а ритм, для этого у каждого человека, свои пристрастия в музыкальных направлениях
Но разработчику Спасибо, за Труд! (имхо)

WLADIMIR,ключ активации получите на той самой странице из текстового документа:
"See the pop-up window after installation, copy Installation ID."
После установки программы выпрыгнет окно,"Your installation ID (MH2-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx",скопируйте из него номер,вставьте этот номер ID в форму на странице активации и нажмите кнопку "Get activatiuon key".Страница перезагрузится - увидите свой ключ активации.

Есть и бесплатные аналоги таких фоновых релаксаторов; http://www.umopit.ru/Aura.htm , https://sites.google.com/site/grom4net/products-ru , возможно где-нибудь на софт-складах остался ещё Spirit of Forest. Но, начинка таких программ весьма статична и через какое-то время наверное покажется одноообразной. У меня фоном обычно играет радио http://www.earthmediacenter.com/download_earthmediacenter_radio.html , там несколько десятков тысяч станций со всего мира, есть очень узконаправленные, в том числе на подобную тематику релаксации.

что то жутко скрипящее, шуршащее... ужас :-) мешает слушать нормальные песни... под тяжёлый рок бесполезна... :-) как бесплатная игрушка потянет... но за деньги это ужас-ужас-ужас... :-)
