The Good
* Straightforward and easy to use.
* Can by-pass DRM protection.
* You can pick and choose which part of the DVD to "record".
* "Fast forwards" past the commercials at the beginning of DVDs.
* Has option to automatically shutdown computer after ripping of DVD is done.
The Bad
* Only allows you to do DVD -> VCD or SVCD; there is no DVD -> "general" MPEG.
* Needs a third party program to assist it in ripping region locked DVDs.
* Developer leaves vestigial features which lead to developer's website when clicked upon.

This Software is good but there are a lot of freeware softwares, which do same function as this do.
You can download and installit, but it is not much useful.
So I advice you if you have not downloaded it, don't install this.
Its processing is very slow. Ultimately, it slows down the speed of whole PC.

PROS:

* User can register program using his or her own name.
* Smooth program access without needing to use Admin Mode.
* Simple, clear, easy-to-understand, easy-to-navigate GUI.
* Supported output profile formats include: MPEG-1 VCD PAL, MPEG-1 VCD NTSC, MPEG-2 SVCD PAL, MPEG-2 SVCD NTSC.
* User can designate location of output folder for converted file.
* Simple, smooth, easy, intuitive program operation.
* Good quality output, equal to quality of source video.
CONS:
* Developer lists file formats that are not supported by program. When User clicks on these un-supported file formats, User is taken to Developer site to purchase other programs.
* No Local Help File or contact information within program (located online only.)
* Audio and Video settings are fixed - User cannot edit/choose desired settings.
* Price Point is high, given alternative (equally-capable), feature-rich freeware and open-source options.
SUMMARY: - Despite the above-noted weaknesses, the program successfully and efficiently converts DVDs to good-quality MPEG formats. A definite keeper for me. Thanks, GOTD and Extra.

I got Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum from Giveawayoftheday months ago. It is able to help me convert DVD to MPEG. Seems that Extra has also posted DVD ripping software here.
Actually, there is a freeware tool called HandBrake that can also be used to convert DVD to MPEG-4. But my friend told me it works great on a Mac and not so well on Windows.
Anyway, thank GAOTD team for offering this software for free today.
