И, кстати, вот кое-что из комментариев в англоязычной части Giveaway Of The Day:

#5 : watermark, batch rename/convert, exif : f.i., IrfanView does this for free, plus many other usefull features, all media plugins …

So, as nice as it can be, I do not see significant value added by this WinWatermark of the day to the already many powerfull free image processors. I pass this one :)

PIXresizer, Paint.Net, and Gimp cover all this and much more, very easily, and for free. Thumbs down on this one.
I also think that $29.95 is laughable for the little bit that this program does.

Last time WinWatermark was offered as a GAOTD, I downloaded it and activated it, but it would never recognize it’s status as a full version registered copy and I finally ended up uninstalling it in disgust.
I will know in a few minutes if it will download and install and recognize itself as registered and full version! Kinda glad to get the opportunity to try it again.

Irfanview is free and does more than WinWatermark. It even reads gifs too :)

For those people that suggested GIMP, IrfanView, Faststone Image Viewer, etc.
So how can you use those programs to add EXIF info (like date photo taken) onto the photo itself? Or rename the files with EXIF info (again with date taken, etc)?
Took a quick look on those websites and cannot find out how to do it.

You can add delete and change photographic info in IrfanView VERY easily. Just click on Image> Information; and it opens up all info icluding exif. You can add any info you want to this dialogue. This then stays with tyhe image wherever it goes. Of course, as with ANY program, these can still be changed by anyone, unless you lock it into the image.

Irfan View.
